The experience at freedom park was eye opening, personally I gained insight on the origins of human kind from an African perspective and also apartheid.
The //hapo a story of early Africa, the early civilizations that existed then and a magnified look at South Africa pre and post colonization. It's more about the experience more than the theory, as the focus was on capturing the lives of people through imagery, sound and objects that they would have used.

Freedom Park is made up of //hapo, an exhibition and a park with various installations. Walking around the park was a serene experience that is enhanced by the instillations that appropriate some of our country's cultural customs.
We got a chance to walk around the main memorial called S'khumbuto which highlights the eight conflicts that occurred in South Africa. Around the memorial we got to see the Wall of Names which is various walls that acknowledges those who took part in the various conflicts and the Reeds which can be seen from afar.

My time at Freedom Park was enjoyable and what I took from the entire experience is that it is important that we reflect on our past. I was humbled and learned that there is a lot to love about this country, South Africa.
I plan to go back to Freedom Park soon and along my family as well, I'm sure they'll enjoy it as much as I did.
